DETAILS

In the lead-up to American Cinematheque's one-of-a-kind fan event on Saturday, August 3rd celebrating the director’s cut of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga Rebel Moon, the Egyptian Theatre presents this action-packed look back at the most mind-blowing achievements of Zack Snyder’s career, including Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen: Director's Cut, Army of the Dead, and Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice is Gray.

From his first feature, the relentlessly intense remake of George A. Romero’s zombie classic Dawn of the Dead, it was clear that Snyder had a gift for spectacle — which served him well later on when he returned to the zombie genre for Army of the Dead. Both films will play at the Egyptian as a double feature.

We’ll also show how Snyder’s early promise blossomed further with his adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel 300, which combined thrilling action with technological breakthroughs that created new possibilities for cinematic visual style. Watchmen, presented here in Snyder’s 186-minute Director’s Cut, proved Snyder’s flair could bring what some thought an unfilmable graphic novel to vivid life.

Unquestionably a seismic cinematic event, the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League - the director’s unfiltered vision of the DC Comics saga - stands as a towering achievement in a genre that so dominates the filmgoing landscape. The Egyptian is proud to present a free, ultra-rare theatrical screening of Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Justice is Gray, which presents a black & white version of Snyder’s vision.
