A DECADE OF STORIES ON A HOLLYWOOD CENTURY: Karina Longworth, Kim Novak & YMRT
DETAILS
The beloved podcast that shines a light on Hollywood history now gets its moment in the spotlight. To celebrate the long-awaited release of the ‘lost’ first episode of You Must Remember This, on April 4 the Egyptian Theatre is presenting an exclusive on-stage conversation about the first ten years of the podcast with Karina Longworth, moderated by actor & cinephile Patton Oswalt, who provided the voice of Boris Karloff in the YMRT season, Bela & Boris.
The chat will follow a screening of Joshua Logan’s 1955 Picnic, starring Kim Novak in one of her most iconic roles. Earlier in the week, The Egyptian will screen Vertigo (April 2), Bell, Book & Candle (April 1), and a 35mm print of Kiss Me, Stupid (April 1). Also during the series, Longworth will fill in her podcast’s origin story by releasing the long ‘lost’ Episode One, The Hard Hollywood Life of Kim Novak. That initial foray into revealing secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century is available for Longworth’s Patreon subscribers now and will be available broadly on April 2.
