Michelle Pfeiffer, Lucas Hedges, Tracy Letts
SYNOPSIS
The film follows 60-year-old Manhattan socialite Frances Price (Pfeiffer) as she cashes in the last of her possessions and opts to live out the rest of her life in a modest apartment in Paris. She is accompanied on her cross-Atlantic cruise by her dysfunctional son Malcolm (Hedges) and the family cat, who may be inhabited by the spirit of her late husband (Letts).
Azazel Jacobs writes: "Possibly not an ideal pandemic film, but who knows if anything is, and who would want that? Made to (hopefully) last, and to be experienced on a screen, in a group, FRENCH EXIT aims to explore a state of an untethered mind, in a world full of untethered lives. And to be funny. Working with this script (written by Patrick deWitt, based on his book of the same name), and working with this cast, was an experience that just keeps giving. Michelle Pfeiffer leads the way in this film, and watching how she prepares and approaches her work, helped me lead my way to HIS THREE DAUGHTERS."
