The best in horror, sci-fi, fantasy and badass cinema comes to Los Angeles in the inaugural Beyond Fest. A partnership of the American Cinematheque and creative collective Amity, Beyond Fest offers an eclectic mix of premieres, rare repertory screenings and special events programmed by genre fans for genre fans. With films drawn from all over the world, Beyond Fest brings many firsts to Southern California.

Legendary progressive rockers Goblin play their first-ever Los Angeles shows on three consecutive nights before rare 35mm screenings of Dario Argento films scored by the band. Seminal London label Death Waltz Recording Co. celebrates its latest release, the new soundtrack to ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, with a screening of the John Carpenter classic, followed by a live performance by legendary composer Alan Howarth. Enjoy a live-scoring of 1982 slasher fave PIECES by recording artist Umberto. Renown artist, writer and director Clive Barker makes an incredibly rare appearance to screen and discuss the holy grail of lost fantasy epics, NIGHTBREED: THE CABAL CUT.

Notorious German director Jörg Buttgereit joins us with his unique shockers NEKROMANTIK and SCHRAMM: INTO THE MIND OF A SERIAL KILLER. Japanese auteur Sion Sono slashes crimson across the screen in his latest masterpiece, the outrageous WHY DON’T YOU PLAY IN HELL? A pair of ’60s horror classics from director Kaneto Shindô, ONIBABA and KURONEKO screen, plus, two of the most striking films of the year, both from the U.K.: Ben Wheatley's acid trip, A FIELD IN ENGLAND, and the sonic-scream fest THE BORDERLANDS.

Sneak previews include the sci-fi thriller THE LAST DAYS ON MARS, starring Liev Schreiber, and the alien abduction shocker ALMOST HUMAN, fresh from Fantastic Fest. The new DISCOPATH and 1980 favorite PROM NIGHT display the deadly power of dance music. Plus more surprises to be announced!

Director Richard Donner joins us for a very rare screening of his terrifying ode to Satan's spawn, THE OMEN. The popular podcast/stage show "The Thrilling Adventure Hour" presents a live radio broadcast followed by a screening of THE MUMMY. Joe Dante, the Nerdist Writers Panel and the Trailers From Hell team present a hair-raising double feature of THE HOWLING and Universal's original THE WOLF MAN, hosted by The Nerdist Writers Panel. The greatest horror film of the silent era gets the treatment it deserves in a new DCP of F.W. Murnau's vampiric classic, NOSFERATU. And the 8th annual Dusk-to-Dawn Horrorthon will bring you lethal cars, sentient spiders, neighbors from Hell and enough free coffee to keep your eyes open until morning - when they’re not clamped shut with terror!

Double Feature: ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, 1976, CKK Corp., 90 min. John Carpenter's stark homage to Howard Hawks’ RIO BRAVO stars Austin Stoker as a policeman defending a defunct police station against criminals in blighted South Central L.A.

One of the most influential composers in the history of genre cinema, Alan Howarth has worked closely with director John Carpenter to craft the scores of some of Carpenter's most formidable films. ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, PRINCE OF DARKNESS, THEY LIVE and CHRISTINE are classics of Howarth’s oeuvre, all comprising of his landmark synth sonics. Making an incredibly rare appearance, Howarth will perform a live set of his most celebrated and popular compositions, in addition to collection of loved rarities.

A blend of studio respectability (with a cast that includes Gregory Peck and Lee Remick) and exploitation gusto, this story of a couple's discovery that their cute little boy is the Antichrist still has the power to shock. Triple Feature: U.S. Premiere! DISCOPATH, 2013, 81 min. Dirs. Renaud Gauthier, Marie-Claire Lalonde. This salute to Italian giallo movies and retro slasher flicks follows Duane Lewis, a New York fry cook driven mad by disco. After he kills a woman in a club, Duane flees to Montreal - but there's no escaping the music that drives him insane.

UMBERTO To Perform Live Score! PIECES (MIL GRITOS TIENE LA NOCHE), 1982, Grindhouse Releasing, 89 min. Dir. Juan Piquer Simón. Synth soundtrack superstar Umberto performs a live score to accompany this infamous grindhouse thriller. A young boy with twisted ideas about sexuality grows into a serial killer, collecting body parts to assemble his jigsaw puzzle of the ideal woman.

PROM NIGHT, 1980, AVCO Embassy, 89 min. Dir. Paul Lynch. A group of kids complicit in a horrible accident get picked off one by one years later on the night of their prom; among them is scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis.

Double Feature: ONIBABA, 1964, Janus Films, 103 min. Dir. Kaneto Shindô. In this chilling Japanese folk tale, a poverty-stricken mother and daughter-in-law make a meager living killing off samurai and selling their belongings. When a neighbor returns from war and becomes a part of their lives, they find themselves joined in a fate as horrific as it is beautiful. In Japanese with English subtitles.

KURONEKO (YABU NO NAKA NO KURONEKO), 1968, Janus Films, 99 min. Another spectacularly creepy film from director Kaneto Shindô, who once again finds horror in a medieval Japan plagued by war. This time an evil ghost is tearing out the throats of roaming samurai; when a soldier sets off in search of the spirit, he finds himself confronting internal as well as external demons. Fangoria Presents: Double Feature: Los Angeles Premiere! A FIELD IN ENGLAND, 2013, Drafthouse Films, 90 min. In 1648, a group of deserters from the English civil war take refuge from battle in an overgrown field, crossing paths with an alchemist’s assistant and treasure hunter. Treasure proves elusive, but something much more ominous may be hiding in the field in this enigmatic mind-bender from director Ben Wheatley (KILL LIST).

U.S. Premiere! THE BORDERLANDS, 2013, Metrodome Distribution, 90 min. Dir. Elliot Goldner. An English priest believes miracles are occurring at his rural church; in response, the Vatican sends Deacon (Gordon Kennedy) and Gray (Robin Hill) to investigate. Skeptical, the men set up cameras to record any unusual activity, and discover that the church hides some ancient mysteries.

Double Feature: THE HOWLING, 1981, Rialto Pictures, 91 min. Dir. Joe Dante. TV anchorwoman Dee Wallace, traumatized after acting as bait for a Hollywood serial killer’s bloody demise, takes a sojourn in an Esalen-type retreat - only to find the entire New Age community is made up of werewolves!

THE WOLF MAN, 1941, Universal, 70 min. Dir. George Waggner. Lon Chaney Jr. achieves cinematic immortality in the title role, one of Universal’s great movie monsters. Bitten by a werewolf (Bela Lugosi) while visiting a gypsy camp, Larry Talbot (Chaney) is cursed to become a hairy beast "when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

Tompkins and Paget Brewster star as Frank and Sadie Doyle, headliners on the society pages, the toast of the upper crust - and, oh yes, they see ghosts. Goblin Performs Live – This events are SOLD OUT

Playing Los Angeles for the first time in their 40-year history, Goblin will perform a full, live set pulled from their most iconic scores, including Dario Argento's giallo classics SUSPIRIA, TENEBRAE and DEEP RED, and George A. Romero's seminal DAWN OF THE DEAD. The lineup for this tour will include original members since 1975 Claudio Simonetti and Maurizio Guarini (keyboards) and Massimo Morante (guitar), plus 2010 additions Titta Tani (drums) and Bruno Previtali (bass). When Clive Barker adapted his novel Cabal as 1990's NIGHTBREED, he created an epic monster fantasy that was lush in scope - and misunderstood by a studio that hacked 45 minutes from it. Now Barker, producer Mark Miller and restoration director Russell Cherrington have recovered plotlines, characters and scenes that put this ambitious tale in an entirely new light.

KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS, 1977, Dimension Pictures, 97 min. Dir. John "Bud" Cardos. Horrorthon vet William Shatner stars as a veterinarian who sounds the first note of alarm when animals begin dying from spider venom; soon the entire population of Verde Valley, Arizona is under attack by thousands of tarantulas.

THE FLY, 1986, 20th Century Fox, 100 min. In director David Cronenberg’s reimagining of the 1958 sci-fi hit, an inventor (Jeff Goldblum) inadvertently mixes his genes with a housefly’s when he decides to use himself as test subject.

HELL HIGH, 1989, JGM Enterprises, 84 min. Dir. Douglas Grossman. A biology teacher (Maureen Mooney) is tormented by four students - who have no idea that the woman has a homicidal past.

THE CAR, 1977, Universal, 98 min. Dir. Elliott Silverstein. Wildly deranged shocker about a mysterious black car given to mowing down anyone in its path. It soon dawns on desert town sheriff James Brolin that the homicidal car has no driver and may, in fact, be a satanic entity!

THE SENTINEL, 1977, Universal, 92 min. Dir. Michael Winner. A troubled model moves into a New York apartment building that gives new meaning to the phrase "neighbors from Hell." The all-star cast includes Ava Gardner, Burgess Meredith, John Carradine and Christopher Walken.

F.W. Murnau’s Silent Classic NOSFERATU with Live Musical Accompaniment

NOSFERATU (NOSFERATU, EINE SYMPHONIE DES GRAUENS), 1922, Kino, 94 min. Director F.W. Murnau reinvents the story of Dracula as a silent German Expressionist fable, and the result is one of the greatest horror films ever made. With English title cards.
