Special Sneak Preview of FEVER Director Alex Winter & Cast In-Person!!
Thursday, March 29 7:30 PM
"An eerie, insinuating tale of urban dread and mental breakdown ... casts a vivid, expressionistic spell" Variety
Hollywood -- FEVER, 2001, 95 min. Alex Winter and cast members Teri Hatcher, Bill Duke, David O'Hara and Marisol Padilla Sanchez will appear in-person at this sneak preview! One of the most intriguing indie features to come along in a long while, FEVER is a Dostoyevsky-like portrait of urban paranoia and isolation set in the outer boroughs of New York City, where a frustrated young painting teacher, Nick (Henry Thomas) lives in a weird, Polanski-esque tenement with a temperamental Polish landlord and a possibly homicidal upstairs neighbor (David OHara) who seems to come and go at will. When the landlord turns up dead, Nick finds himself doubting the sanity and motives of everyone around him, in an increasingly terrifying spiral of ambiguity and suspicion. The second feature from writer/director Alex Winter (best known for his co-starring role in BILL & TEDS EXCELLENT ADVENTURE and his award-winning music videos and commercials), FEVER manages to be both a compelling portrait of a tormented young artist struggling to survive in the modern world, and a subtle, claustrophobic thriller. Co-starring Teri Hatcher, Marisol Padilla Sanchez and Bill Duke. "An arresting example of what a talented filmmaker can accomplish with the sparest of means ... each scene is a further accretion of terror and uncertainty." A.O. Scott, New York Times.
Discussion following with director Alex Winter, actress Marisol Padilla Sanchez (TRAFFIC) and other cast members.
