Honoring MATT DAMON
WHO: This year's honoree is Matt Damon.
WHAT: The American Cinematheque Award presentation is one of Hollywood's premier annual events. The benefit dinner and live show is attended by prominent leaders in the entertainment industry. Each year the American Cinematheque Award honors "an extraordinary artist in the entertainment industry currently making a significant contribution to the Art of the Moving Picture." Past honorees are Eddie Murphy (1986), Bette Midler (1987), Robin Williams (1988), Steven Spielberg (1989), Ron Howard (1990), Martin Scorsese (1991), Sean Connery (1992), Michael Douglas (1993), Rob Reiner (1994), Mel Gibson (1995), Tom Cruise (1996); John Travolta (1997) Arnold Schwarzenegger (1998); Jodie Foster (1999); Bruce Willis (2000); Nicolas Cage (2001); Denzel Washington (2002); Nicole Kidman (2003); Steve Martin (2004); Al Pacino (2005); George Clooney (2006), Julia Roberts (2007) and Samuel L. WHEN: Saturday, March 27, 2010
5:30 PM Press Check-in opens on Plaza level across from the valet entrance. The hotel respectfully asks that media not arrive until check-in time. All places on the carpet will be marked ahead of time.
6:30 PM Arrivals begin. Red carpet is in the hotel lobby.
6:55 PM Photo Op with Tom Luddy co-founder and co-director of the Telluride Film Festival with American Cinematheque Chairman Rick Nicita. Tom Luddy is the recipient of the Sydney Pollack Award. Read press release on this award.
7:00 PM Photo Op (THE INTERNATIONAL GALLERY ROOM) with Ben Affleck doing a mock presentation of the award to Matt Damon. Tom Luddy, co-founder and co-director of the Telluride Film Festival and recipient of the Sydney Pollack Award will appear for photos as well. He will get the award onstage in the ballroom at the top of the show.
*ALL ATTENDEES WILL BE ASKED TO DISPLAY PHOTO ID (CA Drivers License or passport) IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT. Attire for guests is Black Tie Optional (not for press).
Cameras are not allowed in the Ballroom itself. (No sound or picture feed.)
WHERE: Beverly Hilton Hotel (9876 Wilshire Blvd.) -- International Ballroom.
PARKING: $15 Parking at the Hilton Hotels Self-Parking.
HOTEL POLICY: NO lounge-chair like furniture to be placed within the press pit area. NO food or beverage on the red carpet. The lobby bar is open if you wish to dine, but no orders can be placed and brought onto the red carpet. These rules are in place for the safety of members of the media and guests.
Funds raised go toward the American Cinematheque's operating costs for its year-round public film and video programs.

works, special prints within our series, etc., are a Cinematheque tradition that keep the avid film lover coming back for once-in-a-lifetime cinema experiences. We also treat our audiences to fascinating post-screening discussions with the filmmakers who created
the work. The American Cinematheque owns and operates the historic 1922 Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The building has won every major preservation award since the completion of its renovation in 1998. The Cinematheque also programs the 1940 Aero Theatre on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Cinematheque is pronounced "Cinema-tech" like discotheque, not "Cinema-teek."
MULT-BOX:Broadcasters will have the opportunity to take a show feed starting at around 8:30 PM. The mult-box will be in the same room as the Photo Op/Mock Presentation (International Gallery). You must bring a deck and the necessary cables.
